Resources available from Concentrated Solar Power Technology
The potential generating power from the sun is enormous. The map below graphically describes the amount of solar energy hitting the Sahara every year, in terms of the electrical energy needs of the EU.
What is needed is an efficient system of getting energy from here and other locations where massive renewable resouces exist to where they are needed.
Areas of sahara needed to supply all the electricity of the World, the EU and The Middle and Near East Respectively
Solar power has massive potential not only for Europe but to massively assist the immediate locality. This must of course be the priority - and not only can it deliver all the electrical needs of the immediate vicinity - but also delivers enormous desalination opportunities. Given that it is generally felt that water resources are likely to be the most serious flash point in the future, particularly here, there is clearly massive potential in the technology.
