HVDC Technology
The technology of High Voltage Direct Current transmission is one that is rapidly changing.
The advantages of DC are set out on the appropriate pages and the principal disadvantage centre on conversion from AC to DC at the transmission end and frm DC to AC for the local national grid systems.
